Yousif Falah notches his first ABF Tour win in Egypt

Sinai International Open wins back-to-back titles in Cairo

2012ABFT04YousifFalah_small.jpgAfter three defeats in Asian Bowling Federation Tour title matches, Yousif Falah (pictured) of Bahrain finally got the monkey off his back when he defeated compatriot Masoud Saberi, 217-180, to notch his first career ABF Tour win at the International Bowling Center in Cairo, Egypt. It was the second title within a week for the Bahraini, who also won the 14th Sinai International Open, which served as the qualifier for fourth leg of the 2012 ABF Tour. The next stop is the ABF Tour Hong Kong leg on June 10.

Tournament draws 78 players only despite offering 74.100 U.S. Dollar total prize fund

In the men's title match, Falah won the $12,000 top prize with a 191-181 victory over No. 4 Basel Al-Anzi, Kuwait. Netrviseth edged No. 2, Hanadi Al-Muzail, Kuwait, 224-220, to wrap up the women's title worth $4,500. Despite offering a total prize fund of 74.100 U.S. Dollar, the tournament drew only 78 players.

Up to the issue of Bulletin 2, 14 out of 38 ABF member federations have confirmed participation: Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Macau, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan and the host country Hong Kong.

The spectacular hattrick capped a momentous week for Belmonte who recently returned from the completion of a highly successful season on the PBA Tour in the USA, just in time to share the joy of his wife Kimberly giving birth to their second child, Hugo.

Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong wins men's ABF Tour Thailand leg

Local favorite Yanee Saebe wins second consecutive women's title in Bangkok

Strike Bowl Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi. In the men's final, Siu Hong defeated fellow countryman Wicky Yeung, 210-174, to wrap up the title. Saebe saved her best for the last game, defeating compatriot Chantanee Sarnswang, 223-206, to win her second consecutive ABF Tour women's title in Bangkok.

Lee, seeded No. 1, topped No. 2 Siti Shazwani of Malaysia, 212-177, to successfully defend the women's title.

Ben Coupland from Melbourne's Brighton East won the Australian Open, while former World Cup Ann-Maree Putney from Newcastle took the title in the Vic 150 event to qualify for the 48th BWC (dates and venue tbd).

A selection panel led by TBA National Coach, Chris Batson, today announced the teams for the 22nd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championship in Hong Kong from Sept. 2-11, and the inaugural WTBA World Singles Championship, to be held in Limassol, Cyprus, between Sept. 18-26.

Daisuke Yoshida (l.) of the host prefecture Aichi emerged as the Men's Masters Champion while Misaki Mukotani (r.) successfully defended the Women's Masters title. The Minister's Cup for the best team went the Aichi men and the Hokkaido women.

Hareb Al-Mansoori wins his first career ABF Tour title in Kuwait

In an all UAE-affair, Hareb Al-Mansoori (l.) defeated Sayed Al-Hashemi (r.), 244-205, in the title match to capture his first career ABF Tour title. The third ABF Tour stop will be in Bangkok, Thailand on April 19.

Osku Palermaa wins first PBA Tour international title in 9th Kuwait Open

Finnish two-hander shoots four big scores to capture his third career PBA title; Jazreel Tan, Singapore claims women's title; Abdulrahman Suwayed wins Kuwaiti youth final

2012KOOskuPalermaa2_small.jpgTwo-hander Osku Palermaa (l.) averaged 263.75 in the stepladder finals of the 9th Kuwait International Open en route to win the first PBA Tour international title and the $25,000 top prize Monday evening at Cozmo Bowling Center in Kuwait City, Kuwait. In the title match, Palermaa had to defeat top seeded Tom Smallwood, United States, twice to win the title. Palermaa won the first game, 276-232, and sealed the victory with 268-226 in game two.

The winner will be awarded the first PBA Tour international title, worth $25,000.

Rash had games of 270, 258, 278, 230, 299 and 279 for 1614 pinfall total, an average of 269. Swede Martin Larsen (r.) used the second 300 game in Round 4 (Putty Armein, Indonesia, had the first) to land in second place with 1501.

Osku Palermaa (pictured left) of Finland, a two-time PBA champion and winner of the 2011 PBA World Championship, averaged 245.23 over 15 games to lead the 110-player field with 3683 pinfall total. The winner of the 9th Kuwait International Open will be awarded the first PBA Tour international title and the $25,000 top prize.

It was the second win for the Siu Hong after 2006 while Chai cruised to her third career victory in the ToC. When Siu Hong won his first title, Chai also won the women's title.

Australia's Andrew Frawley wins 2012 ABF Tour season opening event in Bahrain

In the title match, Frawley reeled off a seven-bagger to fly past his opponent, 259-213, and to win his first international title since the Thailand Open in the year 2010. There was no women's competition in this event.

The two-hander received the 7,500 Bahraini dinar or $19,500 top prize. The top 16 Asian in the finals standings made the cut for the 2012 ABF Tour Bahrain leg.

Maintaining the form he displayed in 1972 when he recorded his first Masters victory, the 55-year-old Nepomuceno toppled former world titlist and Asian Games gold medalist Biboy Rivera, 2-0 (255-211 and 226-208), to capture the first ABC-Boysen Open crown at the E-Lanes Bowling Center in Greenhills, San Juan.

Kim Bolleby wins back-to-back titles and almost $50,000 in Doha and Dubai

2012DubaiQatarKimBolleby_small.jpg Kim Bolleby won two consecutive tournaments in Arabia, the 3rd Dubai International Bowling Tournament and the H.H. The Emir's Cup 2012, which earned the Swede almost $50,000 prize money. Bolleby won the tournament in Dubai on Feb. 25th, worth $16,300, from top seed and also finished second in the Under-23 division to pocket another $3,540. One week later in Doha, Bolleby defeated England's PBA champions, Dominic Barrett and Stuart Williams, on his way to the title and the $27,000 top prize.
